Program Coordinator (June 2013)

Active Voice is seeking a part time Program Coordinator to work in our San Francisco office.

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for supporting social issue film projects by conducting research, identifying potential partner organizations, coordinating logistics for strategy meetings, managing social media profiles, coordinating material development and supporting evaluation efforts.

The ideal candidate has at least two years experience in a nonprofit, foundation or public interest organization, with proven expertise in coordinating and implementing efforts that deal with social issues. Familiarity with juvenile justice and LGBT issues is a strong plus. S/he has experience with communications and community/civic engagement and has a strong interest in how storytelling and media can help contributed to sustained impact. The Program Coordinator must be equally effective communicating (written and oral) with grassroots organizers, policy makers and high-level project advisors, as well as proficient in web-based and social media strategies. This is not a political advocacy position; the candidate must be effective at working with a wide range of perspectives and opinions. The work requires extreme attention to detail, cultural competency, and a high level of organization and teamwork skills. The Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director

Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and Google Apps for Business. Working knowledge of FileMaker Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Constant Contact, basic media formats and/or web design is a plus.

Director of Business & Operations (June 2013)

Active Voice is seeking a Director of Business & Operations to work in our San Francisco office.

The Director of Business & Operations reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for providing leadership on financial, administrative and business strategy functions and systems.

    Finance responsibilities include: budget development and oversight, financial reporting and forecasting.

    Administrative responsibilities include: oversight and management of human resources, organizational policy development and facilities.

    Business strategy responsibilities include: advising the executive director on strategic business decisions and identifying and managing opportunities to diversify and increase revenue while remaining consistent with the mission and vision of the organization.

The ideal candidate has a B.A. and 5-10 years of experience working directly with operations, finance and business strategy in a small and fast-paced nonprofit setting. A master’s degree with a focus on nonprofits and/or social entrepreneurship, as well as experience working with a fiscal sponsor, is a strong plus.

S/he has strong financial leadership skills and proven experience in business strategy in a nonprofit and/or public interest setting. S/he is effective communicating (written and oral) with a range of clients and vendors. The work requires big picture thinking, a high level of collaboration, strong multi-tasking abilities, attention to detail, cultural competency and social entrepreneurship. S/he should be comfortable working closely with senior staff on multiple projects both under deadline and long term. S/he should also be comfortable collaborating with our fiscal sponsor, especially with regards to financial tracking and planning. Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Microsoft Excel. Experience with SalesForce, Google Apps for Business, Great Plains, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, web maintenance, video production and post-production is a strong plus.
