Using the power of forgiveness for individual and community healing
Hate crimes take place in the United States on an hourly basis, and while forgiveness is an integral part to the healing process after a trauma –it is often considered too personal to be addressed on a societal level. Facing Fear is an Oscar-nominated short documentary directed by Jason Cohen that tells the story of a chance meeting of a former neo-Nazi skinhead and the gay victim of his hate crime attack 25 years after the incident. Together, they embark on a journey of forgiveness that challenges both to grapple with their beliefs and fears, eventually leading to an improbable collaboration and friendship.
