Prenups for Partners—a series of workshops, presentations, and web-based guidelines—will identify common issues and propose solutions to help these natural allies work together more effectively.
We’ve been workshopping our Prenups for Partners guidelines for over a year, first with our HowDoWeKnow/Creative group in San Francisco, then, once tweaked, to their Los Angeles counterparts (thanks to our hosts, Independent Documentary Association). The LA group included several impact strategists, who wisely advised us to cast a wider net. We thought we had it nailed when we shared it with New York-based media makers (thank you POV, for hosting) but of course – that group gave us an earful, including a sobering list of new threats media makers are experiencing post-election.
The ideas and scenarios deepened and and finally, in July 2017, we tested Prenups for Partners with a fresh, but seasoned band of doc makers at the Kindling Group‘s new offices. They came up with a structure that we can’t wait to share with our entire ecosystem. And that, we expect, is when it will get ripped apart anew, this time by strategic customization. Read what Kindling had to say about our session, and stay tuned.
